The painting is on white board (foamcore board) and measures approximately 20" x 30". It is painted with oils. The board edges are secured with black tape (by the artist) and the painting is matted and framed (also by the artist) to measure a total of 22" x 32". It is the first depiction of the mechanical dragons. The only other published image of the dragons is from the Japanese Hayakawa edition. This was published as the cover for the book THE LAND OF OZ from Del Rey/Ballantine publishing. -
