Publicity, Promo

Follow the Yellow Brick Road on the "Land of Oz" map that was initially printed as one of the endpapers for the "Tik-Tok of Oz", but in 1920 served as a promotional giveaway by the publisher. For the Fiftieth Anniversary Edition, MGM produced inflatable balloons available for in-store display. Eye-catching and colorful, it will surely be a topic of live conversation!

5 Wizard of Oz postcards from 1903 musical

    Additional photos

Five postcards depicting the original stage production of The Wizard of Oz, which opened at the Grand Opera House in Chicago on 16 June 1902, and moved to Broadway early in 1903. These postcards show Fred Stone, the original Scarecrow, David Montgomery, the original Tin Woodsman and a card of the cast. No writing on the cards, in very good condition. Very slight "corner impressions" present noticeable on the back of each card( see photos), these must have been stored in a photo album at one time. All five of these cards listed on page 163 under postcards section in The Wizard of Oz collector's treasury publication from 1992. Each card at the time was value between $75 to $150 in 1992. Since almost 25 years past from publication of a book, these postcards prices increase in value.
