The Bowen-Merrill Company Publishers, [1901], 1901. Octavo, pp. [1-18] 1-245 [246: blank], twelve inserted plates with illustrations in color and other black and white sketches in the text by F. Y. Corey, title page printed in red and black, original olive-green cloth, front and spine panels stamped in gold, rear panel stamped in blind, pictorial paper overlay on front plate. First edition, first state with "The Bowen-Merrill Company" on copyright measuring 1 21/32 inches in length and gatherings sewn in eights. "This 'fairy tale founded upon the wonders of electricity' might be considered a venture into the realm of science fiction. It is the story of a boy who, in the course of his experimentations with the electrical equipment that fills his room, accidentally touches the Master Key and summons up the Demon of Electricity." Condition: Very Good-

Sky Island, Baum, L. Frank, 1911 1st edition 1st printing, Red cloth, stamped in black on the spine only, with a color pictorial cover label showing the faces of the three main characters, Trot, Cap'n Bill and Button-Bright, suspended from an umbrella; color pictorial endpapers; 12 inserted color plates by John R. Neill. Back internal and external hinges had some repairs. Some occasional foxing ( see last two photos for the worst examples). Book was preserved in custom made box that save book from exposure to sun and with above average condition of the front plate.

The Master Key, Baum, L. Frank, 1901 first edition, 2nd printing, variant "A" binding, spine imprint is BOWEN | MERRILL, although the title page still reads BOWEN-MERRILL. Second printing with the comma on the last line of the copyright notice on the verso of the title leaf repositioned so that it follows after "BROOKLYN". In the first printing there was a space before the comma. 11 color plates are present ( few shown)., 1 plate opposite of page 128 is missing. Hinges strong. Condition: Very Good
